Every single time we get nando’s its without a doubt I get the macho peas. Whether I’m going all out, or being a little conscious, they are always on my plate because they’re so good. Which made me wonder why I don’t have them more often, especially at home.
This recipe is super quick and easy to make, so there are no excuses. The perfect healthy side dish for everyone. And super cheap in ingredients per portion as well!
makes 1 bowl
takes approx. 6 minutes
200g peas (I use frozen)
1/4 tablespoon of red chilli
1 tablespoon of mint leaves (finely chopped)
1 teaspoon of dairy free butter
squeeze of lemon
sprinkle of salt
pinch of pepper
1. In a saucepan of boiling water over a medium heat, add your peas.
2. Cook for a few minutes or your preference. I usually wait until all of the peas have risen to the top of the water.
3. Drain your peas and stir in your butter, mint and chilli and squeeze of lemon. Simple!
Best eaten immediately.
