Protein smoothies are a good whey (see what I did there) of ensuring you are getting enough protein into your diet. I love having them post workout, and when I don’t fancy a big breakfast or lunch.
They are versatile and you can add things like oats to pack them out and up the carbs, and fruit and veg can be added, like I have with bananas, to increase the nutritious content of the smoothie. Throw in any fruit or veg that is beginning to go off, to save you from wasting.
I will be adding some more smoothie recipes to the blog which contain some hidden veggies and bright colours so keep your eyes peeled for more.
makes 1 smoothie
takes approx. 5 minutes
5 ice cubes
1 sachet of chocolate wheybox protein
2 frozen bananas
200ml almond milk
1 tablespoon of peanut butter
1. Simply combine all ingredients in a blender/food processor.
