Are you a sweet or savoury topping person?! or both?!
I’ve teamed up with Nairns to take part in their ‘Real Food Made Simple’ campaign which celebrates how simple, accessible and easy their oatcakes are to use as a base for a variety of toppings and occasions.
They’re versatile, and can be topped with your favourite sweet and savoury combinations and below are a few of my favourite. Wow your guests with a gorgeous oatcake spread and watch them inhale the lot in delight! The toppings don’t need to be fancy, and sometimes less is so much more.
I experimented with their fine milled and super seeded oatcakes which are:
- high in fibre
- no added sugar (contains naturally occurring sugars)
- no gm ingredients
- no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives
- no hydrogenated fat
- suitable for vegans
You can grab yours in the UK in Morrisons, Waitrose, Sainsbury’s and ASDA and they RRP from £2.00.
Back to the important stuff. TOPPINGS. Here is a little breakdown of what I topped mine with, starting with the sweet stuff:
- Crunchy Peanut Butter topped with Sliced Banana & pinch of Cacao Powder
- Coconut Yoghurt combined with Cacao Powder topped with Sliced Strawberries & Cacao Nibs
- Dairy Free Cheese topped with Chutney
- Dairy Free Pesto topped with tomatoes & fresh basil
- Dairy Free cream cheese with chives topped with cucumber & chilli flakes
- Red Pepper Hummus topped with black olives & chilli flakes
- Smashed avocado mixed with olive oil & chilli flakes
You must let me know what your favourite toppings are and if you want to get involved in the campaign then use the #RealFoodMadeSimple and share and tag your creations with me on Instagram @whatluceeats. Enjoy!
